Former Lady Monarch Jessica Miller Livsey begins her seventh season as an assistant coach for the ODU swim team.
In 2015-16, she helped Reed Mathews set school records in the 100 and 200 fly, win the CCSA Championship in the 200 fly and take 17th at the NCAA Championships.
In 2014-15, ODU finished in second at the C-USA Championships, led again by Mathews who recorded an NCAA B-cut time.
The 2013-14 season Sidni Hoxha won three events at the Conference USA Championships to advance to the NCAA Championships for the second time in his career.
In 2012-13, Miller helped Sidni Hoxha qualify for the NCAA Championships in the 50 and 100 free en route to being named CAA Swimmer of the Year. Additionally, Miller guided Lady Monarch Kimberley Rashleigh to six gold medals at the CAA Championships, where the Monarchs set a remarkable fifteen school records and accumulated thirteen medals total. On land, Miller oversaw the women’s swimming and diving team that achieved Scholar All-American status for the fall 2012 semester.
Miller returns to Old Dominion after spending three seasons as an assistant coach for the Davidson Wildcat swimming and diving program. While at Davidson, Miller coached the distance swimmers, headed up recruiting efforts, and oversaw a majority of competition logistics.
Prior to Davidson, Miller served a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa, where she was responsible primarily for recruiting and the training program, with a focus on distance swimmers.
Miller also spent six seasons with the Northern Virginia Swim League, leading her team to a division championship in 2002. In 2003, she was named the NVSL Coach of the Year.
A 2004 graduate of Old Dominion, Miller was a four-year letterwinner in the breaststroke and distance freestyle events and a four-year CAA finalist in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
