BUIES CREEK, NC (September 1) - Senior All-Region selection, Jessalyn Martin (Richmond,Va.) punched home a goal in the first 2:51 seconds in sudden death overtime to lift Old Dominion University to a 2-1 non conference victory over Campbell Wednesday night. The Lady Monarchs are now 2-0 on the season, the Camels drop to 0-2.

After a scoreless first half, Campbell got on the board first as Connie Ferguson hit a 25-foot shot at the 51:26 mark. Nine minutes later sophomore Jen Henley (Chalfont, Pa.), a 1998 Freshman All-American tied the match with assists from Emily Becker (Va.Beach, Va.) and Martin. Old Dominion outshot Campbell, 25-3.

The Lady Monarchs Rutgers on Saturday night for a 7 p.m. contest.
