The defending national champion Old Dominion field hockey ended its three-game losing skid Wednesday evening with a 3-1 victory over CAA foe William and Mary at Foreman Field. The #7 Lady Monarchs improve to 5-3 overall (3-0 CAA) while the Tribe falls to 5-3 overall (1-1 CAA).

Senior captain Kim Miller (Virignia Beach, Va.) led the way for the Lady Monarchs with a goal and an assist. Marjolijn van der Sommen (Leiden, Netherlands) opened the attack with the game's first goal at the 31 minute mark before Tiffany Snow (Escondido, California) connected on a penalty corner to put the Lady Monarchs up 2-0 at the break. Miller found the back of the net for the final Old Dominion goal.

Tallwood High graduate Ann Ekberg (Virginia Beach, Va.) scored the lone goal for William and Mary with just over 11 minutes to play.

The #7 Lady Monarchs will take to the road this weekend, playing at CAA foe Virginia Commonwealth Saturday and at #6 Virginia Sunday.
