Shaun Anderson enters his first year as an assistant coach with the Old Dominion swimming and diving program.
As a club coach, Anderson has assisted in developing senior level swimmers, which includes an Olympian, Age Group Top 16 Swimmers, Division I recruits, a national record holder, and numerous District & State Champions. He has also held coaching positions with the Greater Johnstown Dolphins in Johnstown, Pa. and as head coach at Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, Va.
One of the few two-sport athletes to compete at Penn State University, Anderson was a four year member of the swim team and a three year member of track team. He was a member of Penn State's first ever Swimming & Diving Big Ten Championship Team. After attaining his bachelor degree in Kinesiology from Penn State University, Anderson continued his education at California State - Long Beach where he received his Masters degree while working as a graduate assistant.
Coach Anderson founded the Diversity in Aquatics Program and has become an administrator with the Josh Project, which aims to curve the drowning rate among inner-city youth. Anderson is also a faculty member at Norfolk State University in the Department of Health, Physical Education, & Exercise Science.
