HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Old Dominion University women’s soccer team will take on the University of Richmond on Sunday at 11 a.m. at University Park on the campus of James Madison University.

The Lady Monarchs are coming off a tough 1-0 loss against La Salle. The Explorers have made the NCAA tournament the past two seasons and were the Atlantic 10 champions last year. ODU freshman goalkeeper saved six shots on Friday night, but a 50th minute Kelsey Haycook goal proved to be the difference maker for the Explorers.

The University of Richmond women’s soccer team lost their first game of the JMU Tournament and 2013 regular season 4-1 to James Madison on Friday night. The Spiders were selected to finish fourth in the A-10. Senior captain Becca Wann was named to the preseason All-Conference first team, as was sophomore back Ashley Riefner. Freshman Kaleigh Kurtz garnered preseason All-Rookie honors.

U of R returns seven of their 11 starters from last year’s squad, including All-American forward Wann. Wann has won A-10 Player of the Year twice and has been an All-Conference selection every year as a Spider. Fellow captain Crystal Koczot returns to anchor the Spider defense. Koczot played in every game last season and had an assist against Old Dominion.
