NORFOLK, Va. - No. 5 Old Dominion (13-7) received an at-large bid to the 2013 NCAA Field Hockey Tournament and will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. to play No. 15 Wake Forest (11-8) on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m., which will be played at Francis E. Henry Stadium.

"The team has worked hard to get to this point, and I'm proud that we have earned ourselves a spot in the NCAA Tournament," said ODU head coach Andrew Griffiths. "It is a really competitve bracket this year across the board and with our strong schedule, we have already played 10 of the teams that are in the field. We have progressed a lot through this season, and we are all excited to play again on Saturday."

The Lady Monarchs are making the program's 31st appearance in the NCAA Tournament field. ODU has won an NCAA Record nine titles, in 1982, 1983, 1984, 1988, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1998 and 2000.

Old Dominion will play for the second straight year in Chapel Hill. Last year ODU defeated Michigan 6-1 and then fell to UNC 3-1 in the second round.

The University of Connecticut received the Big East automatic bid and was the only other Big East team to receive an NCAA Tournament bid.

The field of 16 includes ten opponents that the Lady Monarchs faced during this season including: Wake Forest (scrimmage), Penn State, American, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Duke, Michigan State, Quinnipiac and Connecticut. ODU has played 13 of their 21 games against teams that made the NCAA Tournament.
