Dechow Re-enters InterMat Poll, Seven Wrestlers Ranked

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion wrestler Jack Dechow moved into the InterMat top-20 rankings after defeating former All-American and top-5 wrestler Ryan Loder of Northern Iowa Sunday.

At 184 pounds, Dechow beat Loder by a 5-4 decision, which is his fifth victory this season against the top-20.

Monarchs redshirt sophomore Chris Mecate remains ranked at No. 4 by InterMat after defeating another top-20 opponent, Northern Iowa's Joey Lazor by a 10-8 decision.

Brandon Jeske/125/Freshman/Virginia Beach, Va. #29

Jeske started out his match strong as he led Northern Iowa's No. 5-ranked Dylan Peters by a 4-3 score until he got pinned at 4:47. Jeske is 16-12 and 3-2 as a true freshman this season.

Mecate took care of his ninth top-20 opponent this season as he beat UNI's Joey Lazor by a 10-8 decision Sunday. Mecate is 25-6 this season and has won five in a row.

Warner took care of UNI's Jarrett Jensen by a 9-0 decision Sunday. Warner finishes the MAC regular season with a 6-2 record and he's won six of his last seven.

Curling defeated another top-20 wrestler in Cody Caldwell this past weekend by a 9-6 decision. ODU's 174-pounder has won seven in a row and has put up 75 points during that streak (compared to 29 in his first seven matches).
