Swimming and Diving Releases 2014-15 Schedule

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion Swimming and Diving announces their schedule for the 2014-2015 season, head coach Carol Withus announced on Friday.

“I'm extremely excited about our upcoming season. Our season dual meet opener against long time rival UNCW looks to be a great match. We've added ACC champion -Virginia Tech and also Duke,” Withus said. “The C-USA championship will be held at the University of Tennessee - an exciting venue for a championship meet."

The season starts on September 8 at East Carolina for relays between the Pirates and Monarchs. Following the meet at ECU, ODU returns home for the annual Blue/Gray Intrasquad meet on September 20.

The Monarchs have a short break before beginning a busy October with the women’s squad traveling to UNCW for a meet Oct. 10 against the Seahawks of UNC Wilmington and the Spiders of Richmond University. On Oct. 18, the entire team travels to Virginia Tech for the Virginia Tech Sprint Invitational. To conclude the month of October, ODU returns home to compete against Towson on October 25in the home opener.

November proves to be even more action packed, as the Monarchs make their way to Maryland on the first of the month to swim against UMBC. The Monarchs are home on November 8 for their Alumni Appreciation day when they take on Duke. The women’s squad welcomes Campbell to campus on November 15 while both teams travel to Charlotte, November 20-22 to take part in the Nike Cup Invitational.

Rounding out the 2014 year, the Monarchs head south for their Winter Training Trip, to Delray Beach in Florida from December 12-21. Old Dominion will compete against Florida Atlantic on December 13.

The team begins the New Year against East Carolina on January 17 before taking on the Tribe of William and Mary for their senior night on January 24.

February 17-21, the Monarchs will travel to the University of Tennessee for the Conference USA Championships.
