Kaylah Hughes begins her first season as the athletics operations and events coordinator at Old Dominion University.
A native of Elizabeth City, N.C., she interned in 2014 with the Washington Redskins in business development supporting the director of business operations and executive entertainment with high-profile luxury suite owners and assisted with the planning and execution of games and events held at FedEx Field.
Hughes previously interned in athletic ticketing at the University of North Carolina before working for UNC’s football program for nearly two years.
As a student office assistant for football recruiting at UNC, she assisted with all home football games and recruiting events while providing administrative support to coaches, recruiting staff and operations personnel.
In 2013, Hughes graduated from the University of North Carolina with a B.A. in exercise and sport science. She obtained a master of professional studies degree in sport industry management from Georgetown University in 2015.
