The newly-appointed head coach and her Lady Monarchs will host Liberty in the opening round of the 2017 Preseason WNIT on Nov. 10 at 4 p.m. ET at the Ted Constant Center, tournament officials announced on Wednesday.
The tournament features a three-game guarantee. If a team loses in the championship bracket before it has played three games, it will play in the consolation bracket.
ESPN's early rankings have three Preseason WNIT teams in the Top 25. Louisville comes in as the highest-ranked team at No. 10, Oregon solidified No. 13 and the 2016 Postseason WNIT champion Michigan arrives at No. 21.
Old Dominion is making its second appearance in the Preseason WNIT in program history. The Lady Monarchs' only other appearance came in 1996-97, as ODU went 1-1 that year. The 1996-97 team went on to compile a 34-2 overall record, reach the Final Four and end the season as the No. 2-ranked team in the nation.
