Tom Wüstenberg and Fox Slotemaker Join ODU Soccer Roster

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion men's soccer head coach Alan Dawson announced the addition of two new student-athletes to the 2017 Monarch soccer roster. Joining Monarch Nation are Johnson ‘Fox' Slotemaker and Tom Wüstenberg.
Slotemaker comes to Old Dominion after playing three years at the University of Buffalo, who disbanded the program at the end of the 2016 season.
Slotemaker started 51 of the 53 games in which he played, collecting three assists, 25 shots, 10 on goal, for a 40% shot on goal percentage.
He helped the Bulls go 12-4-3 and post 10 shutouts in 2016, ranking the team 10th nationally with a shutout percentage of 0.53.
Wüstenberg most recently played club soccer for SC Germania Erftstadt-Lechenich of the Landesliga league in Germany.
Prior to playing for Germania, he played on SC Fortuna Cologne II during the last half of 2016. He also spent time on the SV Mehring club team from late 2015 to June of 2016.
During 2014-15, Wüstenberg played for Bonners SC for the Youth League World Cup, after spending some time on the TSC Euskirchen 1848/1913 U19 club team.
He appeared in 42 games, starting 36 at center back for the various club teams and soccer clubs. Wüstenberg scored 14 goals and tallied six assists over the four-year span.
The Monarchs open up the fall season with their first exhibition game on Tuesday, August 15, at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
