Tutchton And ODU Lacrosse Earn IWLCA Academic Accolades

NORFOLK, Va. - The IWLCA released the list of colleges and universities whose women’s lacrosse teams made the 2017 Zag Sports Academic Honor. Old Dominion was among the list of 308 squads across Divisions I, II, and III announced Wednesday afternoon.

To qualify for this honor, the women’s lacrosse team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year. The ODU lacrosse team posted a 3.34 cumulative team GPA for the 2016-17 academic year earning them a spot among the 308 schools recognized.

In addition, rising senior Cydney Tutchton made the 2017 Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll. Tutchton was one of 402 student-athletes at the Division I level to garner the honor.

To be eligible, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. Tutchton is a biology major who has maintained a 4.0 GPA on top of her athletic career. She returns as the points leader for the 2017 season.
