Rudisill Releases 2017 Men's Golf Fall Slate
By ODU Athletics
NORFOLK, Va. -- Head coach Murray Rudisill announced the fall schedule for the Old Dominion men's golf program on Tuesday.
The fall portion of the 2017-18 slate features four events for the Monarchs, headlined by the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate Oct. 22-24 at Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, North Carolina.
"We are excited with our four-tournament schedule for the fall," said Rudisill. "The Golfweek Challenge is first and the tournament combines the men’s and women’s scores to get a champion."
The Monarchs open with the Golfweek Program Championship in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The ODU men's team will compete at True Blue Golf Course, while the women's team will compete at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club. The scores will be combined to determined a team champion and final standings.
Following the Golfweek event, the Monarchs head to Richmond for the Janney Invitational, hosted by VCU, and the Firestone Invitational, hosted by Akron.
"We always look forward to playing at Firestone Country Club in Akron and our final tournament is one that we host on the Outer Banks of North Carolina," said Rudisill. "We will have 18 teams at this event. It is a challenging schedule."
The Outer Banks tournament is set to be held at scenic Kilmarlic Golf Club. Last year, the Monarchs finished as runner-ups.
