ODU Wrestling: Where Are They Now? Grant Chapman '12
By ODU Athletics
NORFOLK, Va. - ODU Wrestling Alumni, Grant Chapman catches us up on what he has been doing since graduating in 2012.
Q: What have you been up to career-wise since graduating from ODU?
I started at the financial advising firm Edward Jones right after I graduated from graduate school and have worked over the last 3 and a half years to build my business. I just completed building a new office location in the Town Center area of Virginia Beach. It has been so fulfilling to help my clients reach their financial goals and transition from a client relationship to a friend.
Q: What’s the best thing you learned in the wrestling room that you use in daily life now?
The best lesson I learned from wrestling was that nothing that is worth doing is easy, so just like waking up too tired to go for a run, you have to be willing to put in the work in every aspect of your life.
Q: If you could give advice to any ODU wrestler, what would it be?
Enjoy it while it lasts, you will always look back positively on your time at ODU, and the wrestling community does a great job of supporting its own. So reach out to the alumni and boosters and network effectively while you are in school.
Q: What was your favorite part about being an ODU student-athlete?
The comradery between athletes and teammates is incredible you build life long relationships.
Q: What’s your favorite memory from ODU?
My favorite memories looking back were when we would travel and some of the conversations and stories I will never forget. I don't think I have ever laughed as hard or will ever laugh that hard again.
