Olivarez Named Conference USA Player of the Week

NORFOLK, Va. – Victoria Olivarez, a senior on the Old Dominion women’s tennis team, was named the Conference USA Player of the Week on Wednesday, as announced by C-USA officials.

“It's been a real pleasure having ‘Tori’ be part of the ODU tennis family,” said ODU head coach Dominic Manilla. “Her experience, fierce attitude and team-first mentality has earned her the upmost respect from her teammates and coaches. We are proud of the recognition she earned this past week and look forward to her continued success here at Old Dominion.”

Olivarez (Virginia Beach, Va.) had a perfect debut in ODU blue on Saturday, going 4-0 in the double-header. In singles, she won both matches in straight sets 6-0, 6-4 and 6-0, 6-2. In doubles, Olivarez and partner Nataliia Vlasova claimed 6-1 and 6-4 victories. Olivarez helped Old Dominion defeat Conference USA foe Florida Atlantic 5-2, as well as Morgan State 7-0.
