NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men’s tennis team nearly had a clean sweep of Conference USA specialty awards, as Aziz Kijametovic was named Player of the Year, Dominik Mueller was named Coach of the Year and Vincent Schneider was named Newcomer of the Year and Outstanding Singles Player of the Championship, as well as Outstanding Doubles Team of the Championship with teammate Jannik Geisse.

Kijametovic and Adam Moundir garnered Singles First Team All-Conference honors, while Schneider and Francois Muitelli were named to the Second Team.

In doubles, Kijametovic and Musitelli earned First Team recognition, while Moundir and Javier Jover Maestre were placed on the Second Team.

Aziz Kijametovic (Player of the Year, All-Conference USA Singles First Team)
Kijametovic is currently ranked No. 115 in the ITA for singles and No. 82 for doubles, which makes him the only Conference USA player to be currently ranked in either rankings. In addition, he has been ranked with two different doubles partners throughout the season. He has compiled a 21-8 season singles record, 13-5 in dual matches, 6-2 versus teams currently ranked in the Top 50 and 3-2 against ranked opponents. His body of work for this season also includes one Conference USA Athlete of the Month honor in the fall and three C-USA Athlete of the Week honors during the spring campaign.

Vincent Schneider (Newcomer of the Year, Outstanding Singles Player of the Championship, All-Conference USA Singles Second Team)
Schneider only played in the spring and compiled a 17-4 record, mostly playing at position No. 3. He went 5-0 vs. Conference USA opponents in singles and 4-1 against them in doubles. He was the Conference Athlete of the Week once this season and finished the year on a 12-match winning streak with his last loss dating back to Feb. 25. Schneider won all his three singles matches at the Conference USA Tournament in straight sets, only losing 16 games in those three matches.

Dominik Mueller (Conference USA Coach of the Year)
Mueller’s program climbed as high as No. 25 in the national rankings this season after taking down No. 14 Dartmouth (4-1) and No. 24 Utah (4-0). The Monarchs claimed the first conference title for the program since 1994. Old Dominion enters the NCAA Tournament with a 19-6 overall record and went a perfect 6-0 against C-USA opponents. In the C-USA Tournament, ODU outscored its opponents 12-0. The Tennis Monarchs have claimed victory in 13 of their last 14 matches, while outscoring their opponents 56-17 during that stretch. ODU is also riding an 11-match win-streak in which the Monarchs have outscored their opponents 46-12.

Vincent Schneider/Jannik Geisse (Outstanding Doubles Team of the Championship)
Schneider and Giesse won all three doubles matches at the Conference USA Tournament with scores of 6:0, 6:1 and 6:2.

Adam Moundir (All-Conference USA Singles First Team)
The two-time Conference USA Player of the Year compiled a 18-12 season record, 14-6 in dual matches in No. 1 singles and had two ranked wins. He went 4-0 against Conference USA opponents and finished the year on an eight-match winning streak.

Francois Musitelli (All-Conference USA Singles Second Team)
Musitelli tallied an overall record of 19-4, 17-3 in dual matches mainly playing at position No. 4 and went 5-0 against Conference USA opponents. He was voted Conference Athlete of the Week once this semester and finished the season on a 10-match winning streak, winning all three matches at the Conference USA Tournament during that stretch.

Aziz Kijametovic/Francois Musitelli (All-Conference USA Doubles First Team)
Kijametovic and Musitelli are currently ranked No. 82 in the ITA doubles rankings. They have an overall 17-7 record for the season and went 10-5 in dual matches. In the fall, they won the ITA Atlantic Regionals, qualifying for the ITA Fall Nationals.

Adam Moundir/Javier Jover Maestre (All-Conference USA Doubles Second Team)
Moundir and Javier Jover Maestre went 8-5 on the season and 1-0 at the Conference USA Tournament. The two took down Columbia’s No. 44 nationally ranked tandem, 6-1.
