NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University wrestling has added 2018 All-American Sa’Derian Perry, a transfer from Eastern Michigan University, head coach Steve Martin announced on Thursday.
"Sa’Derian has shown that he is a great competitor and will bring added NCAA tournament experience to our team," said ODU head coach Steve Martin. "With him being a returning All-American, he should help elevate the competition in our room. Sa’Derian is also a quality young man off the mat which makes him a fit for our program."
Perry, wrestling at 141 pounds, became Eastern Michigan’s first All-American in 20 years when he defeated No. 11 Michael Carr of Illinois, and he also took down No. 9 Josh Alber of Northern Iowa at the NCAA Championships.
Perry, who will be a redshirt junior for the upcoming 2018-19 season, won a career-high 18 matches last season for EMU.
A native of Lakeland, Florida, Perry was the Florida State runner-up as a junior and won the state title as a senior, going 45-0.
