NORFOLK, Va. -- Behind a balanced offensive attack, the Old Dominion women's basketball team defeated William & Mary, 83-69, on Saturday afternoon at the Ted Constant Center.

The 83 points tied a season high for Old Dominion (6-2).

Overall, ODU had four players in double figures, led by Taylor Edwards' 17 points and seven assists. Ajah Wayne added 15 points and eight rebounds, while Victoria Morris and Maggie Robinson each had 13 points.

The Monarchs broke open a close two-point game at the half with a dominant offensive performance in the second half. The Monarchs scored 47 points in the second half on 48 percent shooting.

Defensively, ODU held William & Mary (5-4) to 38 percent from the field and 13 percent from beyond the arc. The Monarchs also outscored the Tribe, 38-22, in the paint.

"We found a way to get in the paint and stay aggressive to put ourselves in a position to win. Part of it was the free-throw line. I was really pleased with that and it was a great way to bounce back." - Coach McCray

ODU was 29-of-42 from the charity stripe, which was one shy of the team's season high for free throws made.

The win was ODU's first over William & Mary since 2014-15.

Up next, the Monarchs host another former CAA rival in VCU on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. ET.
