De Corte in Tie for the Lead at UCF Challenge after Round One

ORLANDO, Fla. – After tying her career low with a 68, Charlotte De Corte is in a tie for the lead in the 98 player field at the UCF Challenge at Eagle Creek Golf Club. The Old Dominion women’s golf team sits in 12th after their opening round 288.

With a four-under 68, De Corte collected six birdies and two bogeys. Abigail Portyata finished with an even par 72 and recorded three birdies and three bogeys. Freshman Jana Melichova carded a one-over 73 on the 6,349 yard track. Sana Tufail collected 15 pars en route to a three-over 75. Noemie Sudron entered the clubhouse with a 76. 

Individually, Leah Onosato sits in a tie for eighth with a three-under 69 in her opening collegiate round. Onosato carded an eagle on the par 5 15th hole. She was one of five players to earn an eagle on the day. 

There will be an 8:45 a.m. shot gun tomorrow. ODU will be paired with Iowa State and Southern Methodist.
