No. 24 ODU Travels to UNT Friday and No. 50 Baylor on Sunday

NORFOLK, Va. – The No. 24 nationally ranked Old Dominion women’s tennis team (11-2) hits the road for a pair of matches in The Lone Star State this week, beginning on Friday, March 8 at 4:00 p.m. ET, when the Monarchs take on North Texas (8-5) in Denton. Then on Sunday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m. ET, ODU will travel to Waco for a battle against No. 50 Baylor (5-10).

The Monarchs are currently riding a three-match win-streak and have claimed victory in eight of their last nine matches. Old Dominion has played one other Conference USA foe, which was Middle Tennessee on Feb. 8, in a match ODU won 6-1. The Monarchs jumped up five spots in the most recent ITA Rankings released earlier this week. 

North Texas boasts a 7-1 record when playing on their home courts. In doubles, the Mean Green’s Maria Kononova and Tamuna Kutubidze are the No. 37 ranked tandem in the land, while Kutubidze is ranked No. 79 in singles.

Baylor’s Livia Kraus is nationally ranked No. 59 in singles, while Kraus’ teammate Jessica Hinojosa is ranked No. 121.
