Men's Soccer Faces Virginia Tech in Exhibition

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Old Dominion men's soccer team is set play a preseason exhibition at Virginia Tech on Tuesday, August 20 at 7 p.m. The Monarchs will play one more exhibition during preseason, which will be at the ODU Soccer Complex on Saturday, August 24 at 7 p.m. against George Washington.

Last week, Conference USA announced that ODU was picked to finish third in the league behind Kentucky and Charlotte. Two student-athletes in Daniel Corona and Sebastien Hauret were named to the C-USA Preseason Team. Head coach Alan Dawson brought on two transfers and seven freshmen for the 2019 season. The 2018 Monarchs closed the season with a 11-5-2 overall mark and a 6-2-0 record in conference play. Dawson's squad was ranked as high as No. 20 in the national polls and battled No. 1 UNC to a 1-1 draw at the ODU Soccer Complex.

The Hokies are coming off 3-1 exhibition win at West Virginia on Aug. 16. Their 2018 season ended with a 3-0 loss to James Madison in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, they finished with a 11-7-3 mark. 

With a $25 purchase of the 2019 Soccer Voucher book, fans receive 20 ticket vouchers that can be used in any combination to gain entry to any men's or women's regular season game at the ODU Soccer Complex.     

The vouchers can be redeemed in any quantity and represent a 75% savings over purchasing general admission tickets at the gate. In addition to entry to the games, the first 150 fans that purchase their ticket voucher books will receive an ODU soccer scarf.
