NORFOLK, Va. – The Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll was released earlier on Tuesday and the Old Dominion field hockey team (4-1) cracked the top-25, coming in at No. 22 in the rankings.

The Monarchs are in the midst of a four-game winning streak, defeating American, William & Mary, then-No. 17 Penn State and Virginia Commonwealth. In the four victories, ODU has allowed just two goals and shut out two opponents.

Erin Huffman, Rebecca Birch and Riley Taylor each have two goals while goalkeeper Cam MacGillivray has 17 saves and has posted a goals against average of 1.09 so far this season.

The Monarchs are coming off a week where they won three games and the Big East Conference recognized two members of the team in their weekly awards. Birch was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Week for her performance and Nicole Fredricks earned the Freshman of the Week honor, both for their performance on the defensive side of the ball.

North Carolina sits atop the rankings for the second-straight week, followed by Duke, Maryland, Connecticut and Virginia to round out the top five. To see the full list of rankings, click here.
