NORFOLK, Va. – Despite outshooting the Thundering Herd 14-3 for the match, the Old Dominion women’s soccer team (3-6-2, 0-3-0 C-USA) dropped a 1-0 decision to Marshall (5-4-2, 3-1-0 C-USA) on Friday night at the ODU Soccer Complex.

The Monarchs held a 5-1 advantage for shots after the opening 45 minutes of scoreless soccer.

Marah Abu-Tayeh gave Marshall a 1-0 lead in the 77th minute off an assist from Rene Ross.

ODU would come close to scoring in the 88th minute off a corner kick; however, the goal did not count as a foul was called just before the Emily Robert’s potential goal.

The Monarchs outshot the Thundering Herd 14-3 and held a 4-2 advantage for corners, but it was Marshall who would claim the 1-0 victory in Norfolk on Friday night.

Old Dominion will host Western Kentucky on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 1:00 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Complex. The match will be streamed live on C-USA TV.
