Kevin Beazley Wins FILA Junior Greco Roman National Championship

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University’s Kevin Beazley became a double All-American over this past weekend at the 2013 ASICS Junior National Championships in Las Vegas, Nev. Beazley finished up with a Greco Roman National Championship and a fourth place finish in Freestyle at 96 kilograms. Austin Coburn also became an All-American after placing eighth at 79 kg/174 lbs in the Freestyle tournament. In all, ODU had five wrestlers compete in Las Vegas over the weekend.
Jack Dechow, Jack Dechow came one win away from becoming a Freestyle All-American at 84 kg/185 lbs. After losing his first match, Dechow came back and won three matches before being eliminated from the tournament.
“Jack also gained some valuable experience at 84 kg/185 lbs Freestyle over the weekend,” Martin said. Coach Martin continued, “He ran into his old rival, Sam Brooks of Iowa in the first round and lost a tough battle, but was able to come back and win several matches throughout the course of the tournament. He will be able to build on this performance towards his goal of becoming a national champion.”
