NORFOLK, Va. - ODUSports.com and Monarch Media present this weeks Wrestling Technique of the Week, which gives fans a chance to learn more about the sport of wrestling.
Wrestling Technique of the Week- Standing Granby
This week's technique features sophomore wrestler, Alexander (Lenny) Richardson (149). In the video Richardson demonstrates how to properly execute a Standing Granby. A native of Jersey City, N.J., Richardson is 16-6 this season, including 8-2 in duals, and has won eight out of his last ten matches. This year Richardson finished 7th at the Southern Scuffle, 4th at the Wolfpack Open and is 2-3 against the top-15. Last year as a true freshman for the Monarchs, Richardson qualified for the NCAA Championships and finished the season 29-15.
Old Dominion takes on No. 12-ranked Virginia from the TED Constant Center this Sunday, January 19 at 3:00 p.m. ODU also is sending wrestlers to the Shorty Hitchcock Open in Millersville, Pa on Jan. 19!
