Budi Moves into Top-25 in Polls

NORFOLK, Va. - Joe Budi cracked two of the NCAA wrestling polls after a solid performance at the Hokie Open, joining seniors James Nicholson and Kyle Hutter in the rankings.

Budi, a native of Appleton, Wis., went 2-2 at the Hokie Open, defeating Duke's Diego Bencomo and North Carolina's Nick Tenpenny. Budi is ranked No. 20 by and No. 23 by

After winning the Hokie Open at 125, Nicholson moved up to No. 7 in the and and is ranked No. 8 by InterMat. Nicholson defeated No. 10 Jarod Garnett of Virginia Tech in the finals.

Following a second place finish at the Hokie Open, Hutter dropped to No. 10 by, No. 12 in and No. 13 in the InterMat poll.

ODU continues to receive votes in the NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches poll. Cornell remained a unanimous No. 1 in the polls and will wrestle at the Binghamton Open on Sunday with the Monarchs.
