BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Brennan Brumley and Kyle Hutter each went 3-0 Saturday at the Hoosier Duals to lead Old Dominion University wrestling on the day.

In the final match of the day, James Nicholson, Hutter and Brumley gave ODU a 12-0 start as all three scored major decision victories.

Joey Metzler dropped a tough 5-3 decision to No. 12 Ivan Lopouchanski, but Chad Lowman delivered with a resounding 17-0 tech. fall and Dan Rivera followed with a come-from-behind 8-5 decision to give ODU a 20-3 lead.

"The Hoosier Duals was a great learning experience," head coach Steve Martin said. "We beat a good UNC Greensboro team and came up short against two tough teams. This trip was also good to see how the team competed after being on a long road trip."

After dropping the opening match to Northern Illinois, Hutter, Brumley and Metzler gave the Monarchs a 9-3 lead with three-straight decisions. Brumley's win being a 7-2 decision over 2009 NCAA qualifier and 23rd ranked Tristen DeShazer.

NIU picked up wins in the next two matches to retake the lead but Tristan Warner turned in a 7-4 win over Zach Benzio to give Old Dominion the lead back at 11-10.

The match continued its back and forth pattern as Brad Dieckhaus won a hard fought 4-3 decision over Joe Budi but Jacob Henderson followed with a 3-2 triumph over Mike Lukowski to give ODU a 14-13 lead heading into the last match. Dakota Greenhaw was able to pull out a 3-0 decision over Grant Chapman and secure a 16-14 win for the Huskies.

Old Dominion started quick against Indiana, gaining a 10-0 advantage on a major decision by Nicholson and decisions by Hutter and Brumley.

The Hoosiers won four-straight matches to take a 15-10 lead before Joe Budi stepped up with a 1-0 win over Eric Cameron.

Indiana won the next two matches to take a 22-13 win.

Nicholson added a 2-0 day or ODU while Metzler finished with two victories.

The Monarchs are not back in action until Dec. 19 when they travel to American for their final dual of 2010.
