NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University wrestler James Nicholson was named the Norfolk Sports Club winner of the Thomas L. Scott Award for Most Outstanding Senior Student-Athlete at Old Dominion. Nicholson received the award at a luncheon earlier this week.

Nicholson finished off his spectacular career by earning All-American honors at this year's NCAA Championships becoming ODU's first two-time All-American since Buddy Lee.

The Des Moines, Iowa native finished the year 35-3 and took eighth place at the National Tournament in Philadelphia. He notched eight pins, nine major decisions and three technical falls on the year.

He earned CAA Wrestler of the Year honors and earned first-team all-state for the fourth consecutive year.

Nicholson graduates tied for the school record with 138 career wins.
