NORFOLK, VA -- The Monarchs of Old Dominion travel to Fairfax, Virginia this weekend for the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament. The tournament is a qualifying tournament for the NCAA tournament set for March 16-17. Each weight class in the CAA is given two automatic bids to the NCAA's and three wild cards are voted upon immediately following the tournament.

The 2007 Old Dominion wrestling team is the second ranked team in the conference and the Monarchs expect to be extremely competitive this weekend. Wrestling will begin at 1:00 pm Friday and again at 10:00 am Saturday. The finals are slated for 5:00 pm Saturday night.

What is a True Second?
Two automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament are awarded per weight class. A wrestler needs to win his weight class or be considered a true second. To be a true second, the wrestler needs to have faced and defeated the third place wrestler. If he has not, the third place grappler can challenge the second place finisher for a true second place finish. Three wildcards will also be awarded at the CAA Tournament.

Admission
Admission is $15 for the entire tournament or $10 for a single day pass. Students and children single day passes are $5.
