ODU in 14th Place After Opening Day of ICSA Sperry Top-Sider Women's National Championship Semifinals

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Old Dominion University women's sailing team completed the opening day of the 2013 ICSA Sperry Top-Sider Women's National Championship Semifinals on Tuesday in 14th place with 187 points.

The teams navigated around light wind mid-day and then storms later in the day to complete eight races. Cornell leads the 18-team field with 73 points, followed by Dartmouth (83) and Eckerd (105). The top nine teams advance to Thursday and Friday's national championship event.

For the Lady Monarchs, the A-Division tandem of junior skipper Corina Radtke and senior crew Shannon Wilkins currently sits in 13th place with 97 points while the B-Division duo of sophomore skipper Andrea Luna and junior crew Alexa Cavalieri also finished the day in 13th place with 90 points. Luna and Cavalieri finished Tuesday on a high note, taking second place in the final competition of the day.
