ANNAPOLIS, MD (October 25) -- Old Dominion skipper Brad Funk (Harbor Bluffs, FL) finished in third place in the MAISA Singlehanded Championships, good enough to earn a spot to compete in the ICYRA Singlehanded Championships, Nov. 5-7, in Newport, RI. Funk finished with 98 points, just eight behind first place and one point behind second place.

Funk becomes the third Monarch in as many years to earn a bid to compete for the singlehanded title. In 1997, All-American John Torgerson won the national event and in 1998 All-American Mark Zagol finished in second place.
