May 23, 2012
NORFOLK, VA--ODU head women's golf coach Carol Robertson announced the signing of Charlotte Hindmoor (Darlington, England) of Polam Hall School to a national letter of intent for the 2012-13 season.
"I am so anxious for Charlotte to be a part of our team. She is an impressive young lady and I have no doubt her contribution to our team will be huge. I am confident Old Dominion and Charlotte will be a great fit. We all have a lot to look forward to in the coming seasons." - ODU Head Coach Carol Robertson
Thus far this season, Hindmoor reached the quarterfinals of the Yorkshire Ladies County Championship after shooting 77-75. In 2011, she finished sixth in the English Women's Golf Northern Girl's Championships. She won the Cleveland Ladies Club Championship and qualified for the EWGA English Girls Close Championships. Her career lowest score of 68 helped win the Blackwell Grange Bishop Trophy, and she was selected and played for Yorkshire County Junior Ladies Team.
In 2010, Hindmoor won both the Blackwell Ladies Club and Cleveland Ladies Club Championships and finished 10th in the Scottish Girls U16 after shooting 74-72.
"I chose to study and play golf at ODU because I was impressed with what it could offer me both academically and in the next stages of my golfing career. During a recent visit, both the coaches and girls were very welcoming and immediately made me feel like part of the team, which is really important to me as an international student. They are dedicated to improving the team and this is something I'm really looking forward to being part of. All of this made my choice an easy one - ODU has so much to offer, I can't wait to start in August." - Charlotte Hindmoor.
Hindmoore is the daughter of Jacqui and Bobby McLean and has one brother, Alexander. She plans to major in sports management at ODU. She joins Virginia All-State Golfer Lauren Eklund (Charlottesville, VA.) who signed in November.
