Mayo Helps Calgary Beat DeMarco and the Lions

CALGARY – In a game that featured a pair of former Old Dominion University football players, the Calgary Stampeders defeated the BC Lions 40-26 in CFL action over the weekend.

Former ODU defensive standout Deron Mayo started at outside linebacker for Calgary and tied for the team lead with four tackles in the game.

Former ODU quarterback Thomas DeMarco started his fourth-straight game for BC, going 23-of-39 through the air for 301 yards and two touchdown passes, while also running six times for 23 yards and a touchdown.

With three games remaining, both Calgary and BC have clinched a playoff spot.  Calgary leads the division with a 12-3 mark while BC is 9-6.
