ODUSports.com will have feature stories and Q&A's throughout the spring football season.  We start off with a Q&A on redshirt sophomore, Galen Evans.  Evans missed the entire 2013 season due to an inury he suffered late in 2012.

First time practicing since your injury freshman season, how does it feel to be back on the field? It feels great, I have been waiting for this moment. I’m just happy it is happening right now.

Talk about the one thing you missed the most: Going after the quarterback is probably the one thing I missed the most.

What was the rehab process like? It was very difficult, I had to have a second surgery, which was extremely hard to work through, and at times I questioned if I could still do it, so it feels good to be back.

Talk about your off-season training: Off-season training was great, I got a lot done, and it worked for me.  My upper body was really slow, so it helped me get back on track towards my old form.

What were some difficulties you faced getting back into the flow of things? That continues to be a struggle, practice one I felt like I played terrible, but today I feel like I did a lot better.

Despite not being able to play last year, what was the one thing you were able to learn from your coaches and teammates? To be a better team player and support the guys who were playing on the field when I wasn’t.

What are your expectations for spring practice? To try to get completely back to my old form, become faster, and continue to work through the kinks.  I want to continue to improve my hands and upper body strength.

Talk about the upcoming C-USA season: We have better opponents; we are playing all D1 teams, so it will be better competition. But we will be ready for it.

Why Old Dominion University? I really liked the coaching staff.  Coach Wilder came to my school and visited me, and ever since that day I knew I wanted to play for him.
