Meet Your Monarchs: Jusse Yorke Q&A
By ODU Athletics
ODUSports.com recently sat down with junior college transfer Jusse Yorke for an interview. Yorke is one of several wide receivers competing for playing time and is off to a fast start this spring.
Q: How did you get started playing football? I started playing football when I was 15. I never really had any interest to play, but my dad wanted me to. He said I was good at it, so I stuck with it.
Q: Is your dream to play football at the next level? I never watched football that much before I started playing it. But since I started playing, it has become my dream to play in the NFL.
Q: Do you have any pregame rituals? I pray before every game, and ask God to watch over me and keep me injury free.
Q: What do you do outside of football? Right now I just try to keep up with my school work and sleep.
Q: What’s your favorite food? Pizza and Burgers.
Q: You had a chance to go to other schools, what made you choose ODU? I’ve known Coach Nagy since high school, so ODU felt like home to me. When I was at Western Michigan he made me feel at home, so I knew he would make ODU feel like home too.
Q: What are you looking forward to the most this season? I’m looking forward to getting some playing time. There’s a lot of returning receivers right now, and I’m trying my best to get on the field.
Q: What’s the hardest thing about transferring to a new school? The plays. Most of the other players have been here for three or four years and they really know the playbook.
