There is plenty of sports action on campus this weekend, highlighted by the annual Spring Football Scrimmage on Saturday, April 12 at 3 p.m. at Foreman Field.

But the football scrimmage is just one part of the weekend's activities, which kick-off on Friday when the Monarch baseball team takes on C-USA foe East Carolina at Bud Metheny Park at 6 p.m. The series continues on Saturday with a 4 p.m. game, and concludes on Sunday with a 1 p.m. opening pitch.

On Saturday, April 12, over 2,000 runners are expected to participate in the first Big Blue 5K and children's 1K. A limited number of spots remain for the races, which begin at 10:15 a.m by Foreman Field at SB Ballard Stadium. The 5K course winds through campus and the athletic venues, ending at the 50-yard line in the football stadium.

The annual Big Blue Bar-B-Que, which celebrates the men's basketball team's success, will kick off at noon in the silver lots next to Foreman Field. Tickets to the event are $20 through Friday at www.YNottix.com, and $25 at the event. Race participants are admitted free to the Bar-B-Que.  The men's tennis team will take on William and Mary at noon on Saturday at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis center in an important Optima Health Challenge match, and the field hockey program will host an alumni game at 12:30 pm at the LR Hill Complex.

The Monarch football team will hit the turf at 3 p.m. in a scrimmage which will also be aired live on ESPN 94.1 FM. Admission to the spring game is Free. Following the scrimmage, the team will remain on the field for autographs.

All Big Blue Bar-B-Que ticket holders and race participants will be admitted to the baseball game on Saturday (4 p.m.) with proof of their BBQ ticket, and Big Blue 5K race participants guests are $3 per person. In addition, 5K participants can pick up their race packets on Friday, April 11 from 5-7 p.m. at the Bud Metheny Baseball complex and will be admitted free to the game that evening.
