Game Two Preview: Old Dominion at NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. - Old Dominion University football travels to NC State on Saturday, Sept. 6 to take on the Wolfpack at Carter-Finley Stadium.

• NC State came back from a 10-point fourth quarter deficit to defeat Georgia Southern 24-23 last Saturday.

• Gerard Johnson rushed for 137 yards while Taylor Heinicke passed for 281 and three touchdowns as ODU defeated Hampton 41-28 on a hot Saturday afternoon in Norfolk.

• Zach Pascal caught a team-high eight passes for 99 yards while Antonio Vaughn had nine catches for 79 yards.

• Just like 2013, Andre Simmons and Fellonte Misher led the defense with nine and eight tackles, respectively.  Misher intercepted the third pass of his career to set up an ODU touchdown.

• Junior college transfer Poncho Barnwell led a six sack effort by the defense with 1.5 sacks.

• ODU Head Coach Bobby Wilder is 47-14 in his five years in Norfolk.  The former Maine offensive coordinator led ODU to FCS playoff berths in 2011 and 2012 along with a CAA Championship in 2012.

Sophomore Zach Pascal led ODU with eight catches for 99 yards and two touchdowns.  He just missed his second-career 100-yard receiving game.  The two TD catches ties his career high.
