NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion University women’s soccer team fell 2-0 to UAB on Sunday afternoon at the ODU Soccer Complex.

Both of the Blazers’ goals came in the first half of play. In the 35th minute, Amy Harrison’s short cross found Johanna Liney, who found the left side of Old Dominion’s net, giving UAB a one goal advantage. This was Liney fourth goal of the season.

Less than six minutes later in the 41st minute, Kasey Johnson lobbed a shot over Erin Kinz for UAB’s second and final goal of the game. Kimberly Fincher was credited with the assist that led to Johnson’s team high six goals this year.

Old Dominion out-shot the Blazers on Sunday afternoon, 17-16, as well as attempted three more corners than UAB (5-2).

Erin Kinz started her first ever collegiate game in goal for ODU, while Meredith Lenox played the second 45 minutes for the Lady Monarchs.
