RICHMOND, Va. (August 25) -- Old Dominion University tallied three Pre-Season First Team All CAA honors today, with senior forward Jimmy Tanner (Syracuse, NY) earning the bid from the men's squad and sophomore forward Jen Henley (Chalfont, PA) and senior defender Jessalyn Martin (Richmond, VA) earning first team honors for the women.

Tanner had a breakout season in 1998, leading the Monarchs in goals scored (11) and points (23). He earned Second Team All CAA honors and team MVP in the process.

Henley broke the Lady Monarchs single-season scoring record in her inaugural season in 1998, scoring 14 goals, while adding eight assists to finish fourth in the CAA with 36 points. Her efforts garnered her All CAA and All Region honors, as well as a Second Team Freshman All America nod.

Martin moved from the front to the backfield in 1998, yet finished second on the Lady Monarch squad in scoring with 13 points on six goals and one assist. She was named First Team All Mid Atlantic Region, as well as All CAA and All State in 1998.

The CAA also announced its Pre-Season Poll, with the Monarchs predicted to finish sixth on the men's side and the Lady Monarchs tied for third with James Madison on the women's side. Richmond was predicted to win the men's title and William and Mary the women's title.
