NORFOLK, VA - Two early goals lifted Virginia Commonwealth over Old Dominion women's soccer 2-1 at Sportsbacker Stadium Friday night. The Lady Monarchs drops to 10-5-0 overall, 4-4-0 in the CAA. The Rams extend their record to 10-3-3 overall and remain undefeated at 7-0-0 in the conference.

VCU's Stephanie Power connected in the 29th minute of play to give the Rams an early 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later VCU found the net again when Sandra Anger scored from 28 yards out.

Old Dominion's lone goal came right before the half at 41:34 when senior forward Laura Beeman (Chalfont, PA) netted a direct kick from 20 yards out. Freshman goalkeeper Colby Owen (Virginia Beach, VA) had 10 saves on the night.

The Lady Monarchs travel to JMU Sunday, then return home next weekend to for their final two home games against George Mason on Thursday and Towson on Saturday.
