LYNCHBURG, VA - Sophomore forward Lisa McKenzie (Inverness, Scotland) scored two goals to lift the Lady Monarchs to a 2-0 shutout victory over Liberty Saturday night. Old Dominion's record improves to 4-1, their best start since 1998.

The first goal came at the 52nd minute of play as Laura Beeman (Chalfont, PA) retrieved a deflected shot and passed the ball to Lisa McKenzie where she put it in the net from 15 yards out, up the center. Nearly 20 minutes later, at 70:25, Lisa McKenzie connected again for her second goal of the night off a cross pass from Shavon Knight (Waldorf, MD).

Old Dominion held a 20-5 shot advantage over Liberty, along with a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Lady Monarchs return home September 16, when they begin CAA conference play as they host William and Mary at 7:00 p.m. at the Old Dominion Soccer Stadium.
