HOUSTON, Texas – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team fell to the Rice Owls on Friday night, 5-2, at the Rice Soccer Complex in Houston, Texas.

Scoring started off in the 10th minute by Rice’s sophomore Lauren Hughes, when she intercepted Erin Kinz’s pass and placed her sixth goal of the season into ODU’s net.

Old Dominion’s Jessie Klamut quickly answered in the 12th minute with her fourth goal of the season, which leads the Lady Monarchs in both goals and points this season.

In the 12th minute, Rice’s Lauren Hughes struck again to give the Owls a 2-1 advantage. In the 35th minute, Rice’s sophomore Jasmine Isokpunwu headed a goal of her own off a free kick into the Lady Monarch’s goal to stretch the lead to 3-1. Two minutes before halftime, Jessica Howard, a redshirt junior from Dallas, Texas, finished an assist from Holly Hargreaves, lifting Rice to a 4-1 lead over Old Dominion.
