Meet Your Monarchs: Anthony Wilson Q&A

March 24, 2014
By ODU Athletics will do several stories throughout spring practice on the Monarchs.  Today's feature is on sophomore linebacker, Anthony Wilson.  Wilson started two games at linebacker and was a strong special teams player, contributing 25 tackles in 10 games.

This is your second spring at Old Dominion, what did you learn from the first one?  I learned that you have to work hard in the winter to get ready for the spring.

What was your 2013 season like? It was a very good experience since I redshirted at Marshall. I started in a few games and it was a really good experience.

You started against Pittsburgh, what was that week leading up to like for you? A tougher week because we were going against a bigger team than the ones we had played all season.  I wasn’t nervous or anything.

Talk about the excitement of joining Conference USA? I’m excited because I get to play my old school, Marshall, because they are also in Conference USA, and I know the guys are very excited too.

What do think will be the biggest challenge in Conference USA? Tougher opponents, tougher athletes, and the speed of the game.

Why Old Dominion? It’s closer to home, and I like the program. I like where the program is going.

What is your major? Sports management

Favorite thing to do in the Hampton Roads? Go to the beach

Do you have any hidden talents? I can sing.
