NORFOLK - Old Dominion University athletics announced today that a limited number of football season tickets are available for purchase for the 2014 season.

“We are excited to offer season tickets to the general public. We average an annual renewal rate of approximately 92% which amounts to about 1,000 tickets that become available after the renewal process.” says ODU Senior Associate athletic director Mark Benson. “Prior to the 2013 season, which was a reseating year, we converted the majority of our 4,500 waiting list members to season and/or flex ticket holders.

“We continually hear from our fans and alumni that their perception is our football tickets are always sold out or impossible to get.  It’s important they know season tickets are available each year and that there is a process in place to secure them. I encourage folks to take advantage of this opportunity quickly.”

Old Dominion has sold out 35 consecutive games since reinstating football in 2009, averaging over 20,000 fans per game.

Football season tickets are priced at $170 for six home games. The Monarchs enter their first season of Conference USA and FBS level membership in 2014 and will host Hampton University on Aug. 30, Eastern Michigan on Sept. 13, Middle Tennessee on Friday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m., Marshall on Oct. 4, Florida International on Nov. 8 and Louisiana Tech on Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. Game times for other home games will be announced at a later date.

Football season tickets are limited and the best way to improve your opportunity to receive tickets is by joining the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation (ODAF), which provides support for athletic scholarships and programming. Inquiries regarding the ODAF can be directed to www.olddominionaf.com or by calling 757-683-6963.

Seat allocation for new ticket holders will be determined in late July utilizing the ODAF priority points system, which awards points based upon current donations, lifetime giving, as well as season ticket purchases. Purchasers will receive confirmation from the ticket office at that time.

To order season tickets, click the here, or contact the Athletic Ticket Office at 757 683-4444 (push option #3).
