Attila Vendegh, Trevor McEachron Named to VaSID Men's Soccer First Team

BLACKSBURG, VA -Former Old Dominion University men's soccer standout Attila Vendegh (Bratislava, Slovakia) and junior defender Trevor McEachron (Woodbridge, VA) were named to the VaSID University Division Men's Soccer All-State First Team, as voted by the sports information staffs at every college and university in the Commonwealth. Named to the Second Team were junior midfielder Kevon Harris (Kingson, Jamaica) and former Monarch goalkeeper Sam Cameron (Raleigh, NC).

Vendegh, who recently signed a two-year contract with the Atlanta Silverbacks of the A-league, led the Monarchs in points last season, after scoring 10 goals and having six assists for 26 points. He left ODU the all-time leading scorer in school history with 64 goals, 22 assists and 134 points. Trevor McEachron, the Colonial Athletic Association Defender of the Year, the first Monarch to earn the award, and a member of the All-CAA First Team, was named National Player of the Week for the week ending September 14, by College Soccer News and named CAA Player of the Week back-to-back, September 15 and September 22. In addition, McEachron was named to the NCSAA/Adidas All-America First Team for his outstanding season that saw ODU go through their first eight games of the season without allowing a goal.

Midfielder Kevon Harris finished fourth on the team in scoring last season, with four goals and five assists for 13 points, and provided veteran leadership to help lead the Monarchs. Goalkeeper Sam Cameron recorded a career-high 10 shutouts during the season, had a 15-4-1 record and went through the first eight games of the season with allowing a goal. Cameron allowed only 14 goals the entire season.
