Banks Earns All-Freshman National Honors; Cvilikas Named 2nd Team All-American

NORFOLK, VA--The 9th ranked Old Dominion University Soccer Monarchs saw two team members earn national end of the season honors this week. Freshman Trevor Banks (Madison, WI) was named by College Soccer News to their 1st-Team All-Freshman squad, while senior forward Brian Cvilikas (Highlands Ranch, CO) earned College Soccer News 2nd-Team All-American honors along with being named an NSCAA 3rd-team All-American.

Banks, the 2005 CAA Rookie of the Year, scored six goals and three assists to rank 2nd on the team in points with 15. Banks scored three game-winners, including one in his collegiate debut against North Carolina State where he netted both Monarch goals. He was named CAA Rookie of the Week for his effort against the Wolfpack.

Cvilikas scored 30 points off of 15 goals to lead the conference in goals and points, earning CAA Player of the Year honors in the process. He was also named by both College Soccer News and Soccer America as their National Player of the Week after scoring two goals apiece in wins over then #4 Virginia and Davidson. Cvilikas has been invited along with teammate Trevor McEachron (Woodbridge, VA) to participate in the 2006 MLS Player Combine.
