Monarchs move up to seventh in poll (Men's Soccer)

NORFOLK, VA.--Old Dominion University senior forward Edson Elcock (Brooklyn, NY.) has been named to COLLEGE SOCCER NEWS 11-man National Team of the Week and CAA Player of the Week. In the latest polls, ODU (7-11/2-0)is seventh in COLLEGE SOCCER NEWS, 12th in SOCCER AMERICA, the coaches NSCAA/adidas poll and SOCCER TIMES.

Elcock scored three goals and added one assist to lead the Monarchs to CAA wins over Delaware and Drexel. The senior tallied a second-half goal in the 2-0 win over Delaware on Friday, and then scored two goals and an assist in ODU's 5-1 win over Drexel on Sunday. Elcock has a team-high six goals and 14 points for ODU who has won seven straight games.

The Monarchs hit the road this weekend when they play at Northeastern at 6 p.m. on Friday and at Hofstra on Sunday at 1 p.m. ODU and Hofstra have met in the last two CAA finals.
