Men's Soccer Blanks Mt. St. Mary's, 7-0, For Sixth Straight Win

NORFOLK, VA (Oct. 18) - The Old Dominion men's soccer team boosted their season record to 8-4-1 with a 7-0 win over Mount St. Mary's on Oct. 18. Mount St. Mary's falls to 9-4-1 on the season.

Leading the scoring attack for the Monarchs was CAA player of the week Attila Vendegh (Bratislava, Slovakia), who tallied two of the first three goals. Overall, six different players scored for the Monarchs, including senior Mabricio Wilson (Baldwin, NY) and sophomore Ben Cummins (Queensland, Australia). Junior Carlos Mendes (Mineola, NY) contributed two assists.

Old Dominion outshot Mount St. Mary's 21-4, and held a 9-2 edge in corner kicks. Sophomore goalie Sam Cameron (Raleigh, NC) registered three saves while picking up his fourth shutout of the season.

The Monarchs will return to action on Oct. 21 when they travel to CAA rival Virginia Commonwealth.
