Men's Golf Places Sixth At Coastal Carolina Invitational

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Sept. 19) - The Old Dominion University golf squad opened the season with a sixth place finish in the rained shortened Coastal Carolina Invitational at the Bay Tree Plantation on Sept. 19. The Monarchs shot 300 which tied them with Francis Marion. Host Coastal Carolina won the event with a 283.

Individually, junior Michael Hospodar (Ontario, Canada) led the Monarchs with a 73 for 11th place, while sophomore Geoffrey Harris (Reading, England), the 2000 CAA Rookie of the Year took 16th with a 74. Hospodar was second in the tournament with 15.
