NORFOLK, VA. - Old Dominion University Head Golf Coach, Murray Rudisill announced today that Aaron Summers (Willis, Va.) and Adam Condello (Fairport, NY.) have signed letters-of-intent. Both golfers will be incoming freshmen in the fall.

Summers was the 1999 Virginia A Regional and State Champion. Last fall, he repeated as Regional Champion and placed third in the state, while leading Floyd County High School to the Regional and Virginia State Championship.

Summers also won the Virginia State Golf Association Junior Championship last summer, the PJGT tournament in Lumberton, NC.and the Jerry Haas Golf Camp Tournament. The 6-0, 170 pounder is the son of Steve and Lori Summers.

"I am very pleased to have another outstanding Virginia Player on the team,' said Rudisill. "Aaron has a very strong Virginia Association Junior Golf record and I am counting on him to jump right in, and make an immediate impact with our squad." Adam Condello is the reigning county champion, from Fairport High School near Rochester, NY. His high school squad placed second in the upper New York State Sectionals and County Tournament.

Thus far this Spring, Condello was fifth at the FCWT Links at Hiawatha in Binghampton, NY. In the fall, he was 12th at the Kiawah Island (SC) Tournament and tenth at Grand Haven. The 6-0, 150 pounder is the son of Robert and Lisa Condello.

"Adam has a lot of national tournament experience and should make an immediate impact on our squad next year, " said Rudisill. "He continues the long line of outstanding golfers we have gotten from upstate New York."

In the 2000-01 season, the Monarchs of Old Dominion finished in the top ten in seven of 11 tournaments. The Monarchs missed winning the CAA Championship by one stroke, and won the Oral Roberts-Southern Hills Tournament. Head Coach Murray Rudisill is a four-time Conference Coach of the Year and two-time State of Virginia Collegiate Coach of the Year.
